Nico Bolzico, Dani Aliaga, Chef Willy Trullas dish out on Europe’s sexy eats

Experience Europe with the ever-charismatic Nico Bolzico, Bistronomia co-owner Dani Aliaga, and Chef Willy Trullas Moreno as they bring their appetite to the streets of Spain in search of ‘sexy food’ in the two-episode feature of Metro Channel’s travel-food show “The Crawl” this September.

The Spain expedition is sure to be filled with fun as the food lovers trio tests out the local cuisine and explore inspiring sight-seeing spots and restos in three cities—Barcelona, Madrid, and Logrono.

Relish great architecture and check out tourist spots such as La Sagrada Familia, Puerta de Alcala, and Avignon street; and visit renowned Spanish restaurants such as Disfrutar, Xarcuteria La Pineda, Bar La Plata, El Botin, and DSTAgE. Here, the gentlemen dish out on mouthwatering eats such as bacon butter, famous tapas, paella, boqueron, butifarra, croquettes, and hippo cheeks.

As Spain is the third largest wine producer in the world, Nico, Dani, and Chef Willy did not miss trying their hand at the intricate art of wine-making. Visiting a number of wine cellars, they make sure they get to know wine in a different light—whether red, white, or rose—through their journey.

Roast suckling pig or cochinillos is a famous Castilian dish, and is one to watch out for in “The Crawl” in Madrid. The dish is mainly piglet meat coated in batter, with pork fat, a bit of laurel leaves and twigs, and is traditionally prepared in an earthenware pot and served hot with a crispy crust. The lot also winds down for beer and cider at La Tita Rivera, a famous green oasis in the middle of the city, and enjoys a lively flamenco performance.

Discover sexy Spanish eats and zesty sights with Nico, Dani, and Chef Willy in “The Crawl: Spain,” premiering on September 1 and 8 (Saturday) at 8 PM. Replays are available every Sunday (10 AM, 6 PM), Monday (8AM, 10 PM), Wednesday (12 NN), Friday (7 PM), and Saturday (9AM).

Maymay shows importance of friendship and keeping promises in “Wansapanataym

Despite having troubles with their friendship, Espie’s (Maymay Entrata) love and care for Vincent (Edward Barber) will still prevail as she finally exposes to Vincent’s mother the truth behind his sudden disappearance in “Wansapanataym Presents: Ikaw ang GHOSTo Ko” this Sunday (September 2).

After a series of disagreements, Espie and Vincent finally decided to forget their feelings for each other. However, this will not hinder Espie from fulfilling her promise to Vincent as she finds her way to Vincent’s mom and reveals that Charlie (Luis Hontiveros), the young man’s trusted uncle, is the mastermind behind the tragedy.

But fate will continue to test them as Charlie takes over the company owned by Vincent’s family, giving him more power to find and destroy evidence that could point to his involvement in the crime.

Espie and Vincent’s friendship will also be put to test as Lester (Patrick Quiroz) continues to woo Espie, hurting Vincent’s feelings.

Will Espie and Vincent be able to get the justice they have been fighting for? Will there be another chance for them?

“No filter! Just truth!

“The Kids’ Choice” premiere brings joy to more families nationwide

More Filipino families tuned in to the premiere of “The Kids’ Choice” as the show debuted strongly in national TV ratings and impressed viewers with non-celebrity families’ performances including sand art, bird tricks, and hiphop choreography last Saturday and Sunday (September 1 and 2).

The show recorded a national TV rating of 29% last Saturday versus “The Clash” that only got 18.9%, according to data from Kantar Media. Its reigned continued last Sunday as it hit 28.8%, while its rival show only registered 20.9%.

It was a fun-filled family weekend for viewers as the show’s kiddie judges or “The Just Kids League” brought entertainment with their honest yet adorable comments on the performances of non-celebrity family contestants called “Fam-batos.” But aside from their impressive talents, the families also brought inspiration to viewers as they shared their heartfelt stories.

Taking home the “The Kids’ Choice” title in the show’s first two episodes were Bool family, who danced to popular Kpop songs, and Santos family, who impressed the kids with their military-inspired routine.

Meanwhile, netizens took to social media their praises for the show and for the kiddie judges, who were mostly noted for their remarkable skills to judge contestants despite their young age.

“Jayden at a young age is objective and rational in his comments and judgment. He focuses on quality and executions. Xia and Onyok focus on the entertainment value,” iWant TV user Waynani commented.

“ABS-CBN’s new show “The Kids Choice” is so cute. I like gigil kid Carlo Mendoza because of how he judges and interacts with his co-judges,” @spye_bere tweeted.

“No filter! Just truth! Kudos ‘Just Kids League,’” another Tweeter user @JustPhilOnline said.

Hosted by Robi Domingo and Eric Nicolas, “The Kids’ Choice” is an original concept that gives the power to five kids to critique contestants and sit as judges.

Don’t miss the only show on TV where kids have the last, “The Kids’ Choice,” which premieres this Saturday and Sunday (September 1 and 2) on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167).

“I’ve always believed that the Philippines is a country of entertainers and I think it’s something that we can be proud of.

“Star Hunt,” discovering Pinoy talents and building stars

Filipino dreamers headline their own stories and journeys to success on ABS-CBN’s grand audition show “Star Hunt,” which gives Filipinos the ultimate chance to chase their dreams by giving them the opportunity to join different talent and reality competitions.

“I’ve always believed that the Philippines is a country of entertainers and I think it’s something that we can be proud of. We’re committed to help push Filipino talent globally, and I think it’s time for us to start pushing for our talents to attain global prominence. We would like to shine as a Filipino company that will continue to take pride in our talents – behind the scenes or on camera,” said Laurenti Dyogi, head of TV production.

Since it started airing in August, “Star Hunt” has featured interesting and heartwarming accounts of people who fall in line during auditions, patiently waiting for their turn to shine.

For direk Lauren, the auditions are his favorite part of any competition because he gets to interview the auditionees and learn about their lives. He said, “There’s a gem in everybody, if you just listen to their stories. I’m always trying to find that unique personality who’s like no other and has a potential to be famous.”

So far, many successful Star Dreamers or auditionees have become or may become a part of “I Can See Your Voice,” “Tawag ng Tanghalan,” “Dance Kids,” “Pilipinas Got Talent,” “Little Big Shots,” “MMK,” “Pinoy Big Brother” and the soon-to-be-launched dance competition “World of Dance Philippines.”

In the past two weeks, “Star Hunt” introduced to viewers some promising Star Dreamers, including Lucena’s aspiring singer-songwriter Jam Labitigan, who joined “Tawag ng Tanghalan” and became a daily winner. Leslie Ordinario of Laguna was also previously hailed as a winning see-nger on “I Can See Your Voice” and even performed a duet with “TNT” grand champion Janine Berdin.

“Star Hunt” also saw the potential of Jefford Balote of Naga, whose funny videos have become viral online and featured on television. He has since been invited to join the growing family of Adober Studios, the largest multi-channel network in the country that manages and nurtures online stars and creators.

Boholano barangay kagawad Danger Peligro also said his “I, thank you” when he showcased his wit on “It’s Showtime’s” “Miss Q and A.”

Fifty-one-year-old mom Arlene Acosta of Pampanga also proved that it is never too late to achieve one’s dreams. After she auditioned, she was given the chance to appear in “Home Sweetie Home” and meet its cast, including Piolo Pascual.

From Leyte, beatbox duo Rens Lucas Jr. and Jhoex Dapiton flew to Manila to perform in “Banana Sundae,” where they shared the screen with Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban in an episode that is set to air on September 16.

Teen dancers Mhejie Dela Cruz of Bulacan, Heather Asiatico of Caloocan, Jade Carno of Nueva Vizcaya, Kysha Navarro of Butuan, and Alyzza Tinio of Cavite are also preparing for their stint in “World of Dance Philippines.”

Meanwhile, “Star Hunt” continues to find dreamers as it reaches out to more Filipinos through auditions in Japan on September 8 and 9, in HongKong on September 23, in Ilocos on September 24, and in Davao on October 6 and 7.

Don’t miss “Star Hunt,” hosted by Kim Chiu, Alex Gonzaga, Robi Domingo, and Melai Cantiveros, Mondays to Fridays on ABS-CBN. For updates, follow visit fb.com/starhuntabscbn and follow @@starhuntabscbn on Twitter and Instagram.

5 times ‘Sid and Aya’ gave viewers lessons in love

Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes reunite this weekend on KBO with the TV premiere of their 2018 blockbuster movie “Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story,” with more than just the ‘kilig’ but with a few lessons in love.

Here are five times the movie offered viewers some truths–sometimes bitter, sometimes, sweet–about love.

  1. When Sid decided to take a risk in love.

Faced with a crippling fear of failing in love, Sid finally decided Aya was worth the risk. If there is one thing this tells us, it’s that in love, there are no “sure balls” or assurances. Even if you give your all, there is still a huge chance that you might lose.

  1. When Sid and Aya tried for the third time – and succeeded.

Sid and Aya’s love for each other was tested several times. Things did not turn out well in their first and second try but finally succeeded on the third time. Like what people say, there is always a perfect time for everything, including love.

  1. When Sid realized a successful career couldn’t bring him happiness.

Sid is a stockbroker who achieved his success by all means, including stepping on other people on the way up. But when he met Aya and found in her a constant companion, he realized Aya was filling the gaps in his life.

  1. When Aya showed Sid that ‘black swans” do exist.

Aya came into Sid’s life like a ‘black swan,’ which is defined in a philosophy book as an unforeseen or random event that changes everything. In this case, Aya’s arrival would prove to be a turning point in his life—and love.

  1. When Sid proved–to his disappointment–that people sometimes settle for security and convenience in a relationship.

On the surface, Sid seemed contented with his life. He had a nice condo, a successful career, and even an open relationship with his girlfriend, Dani (Bubbles Paraiso), who agrees they can hook up with other people—knowing at the end of the day, they will come back to each other’s arms. But Sid also suffered from depression, which drove him to seek out the company of other people, even if he had to pay for it. Fortunately, it was Aya he ended up hiring.

Don’t miss “Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story” this Saturday (Sept. 8) and Sunday (Sept. 9) with “Loving In Tandem,” “Beauty and the Bestie,” “Buy Now, Die Later,” and “El Brujo.”

Huwag palalampasin ang “Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story” ngayong Sabado (Sept.8) at Linggo (Sept.9) kasama ang “Loving In Tandem,” “Beauty and the Bestie,” “Buy Now, Die Later,” at “El Brujo.”

Lino rescues Ivory when she meets an accident and rushes her to the hospital. Forced by Jacky to go to the hospital, Ace soon confronts Ivory about their affair and tells her not to confess and that he will never leave his wife for her. But by accident, Lino overhears the confrontation and is now struggling with a secret that he know will hurt Jacky.

5   Ivory denies her affair with Ace (Episode 9)

After being confronted by Ace at the hospital, Ivory decides to protect him by denying they had an affair to Jacky. She insists it was her all along who seduced Ace, and that he never responded to her passes.

6    Ace nearly betrays Jacky once again (Episode 11)

As if by fate, Ace ends up catching Jade drunk, in a bar. Jade becomes flirtatious and Ace becomes vulnerable once more. He takes her away from the bar and they end up in a hotel.
