Korean drama fans are in for the biggest summer treat ever as the first and true home of Asianovelas, ABS-CBN, premieres on Monday (May 8) two of the biggest Koreanovelas of 2016— “Legend of the Blue Sea” and “Goblin” — topbilled by two of the hottest and most popular Asian superstars today, Lee Min Ho and Gong Yoo.
“This is an extraordinary TV event not only for Koreanovela fans but for all our Kapamilya viewers because these are two of the biggest Korean productions that commanded huge viewership across the pan-Asian region,” said Leng Raymundo, head of ABS-CBN Integrated Acquisitions and International Sales and Distribution.
“Legend of the Blue Sea” is a casting coup by led international superstar Lee Min Ho, who has always been a favorite here in ABS-CBN, and Jun Ji-Hyun, who is a leading multimedia star in Korea. Meanwhile, “Goblin” is the dream fantasy series of Korea’s most successful TV writer Kim Eun Sook. She really brought the fantasy drama genre to a whole new level comparable to Hollywood productions,” she added.
From the casting, storyline to production values, Raymundo said these two titles will surely captivate Filipino viewers.
“We are very excited for our audience to enjoy these Korean dramas. We have been receiving positive feedback since we announce our acquisition of the titles and we are very thankful and overwhelmed for all the support,” she said.
The biggest Korean fantasy-romance drama “Legend of the Blue Sea” marks the return of the King of Asianovelas, Lee Min Ho, on Philippine television after ABS-CBN last aired his series “The Heirs” in 2014. The series, which gave Min Ho the Top Excellence Award as an actor in the 2016 SBS Drama Awards, also stars international superstar and one of Korea’s sought after leading ladies, Jun Ji-Hyun.

Meanwhile, the magic of love continues on Primetime Bida with premiere of the groundbreaking Korean fantasy drama “Goblin.” The series formally welcomes blockbuster star Gong Yoo’ as a Kapamilya and ‘My Girl’ leading man, Lee Dong Wook,” in his PH TV comeback.

This award-winning fantasy love story follows the journey of a brave general named Kim Shin, who is cursed to live forever as a Goblin, an immortal protector of souls. After 900 years, he finally meets a woman that can end the curse— Erin, the Goblin’s bride. He, however, falls in love with the sweet and innocent young lady and risks both their lives in the name of love.
