ABS-CBN remains to be the most watched TV network in the country among nationwide among urban and rural homes combined last October with an average national audience share of 42% vs. rival network GMA’s 38%, according to recent data from Kantar Media.
On primetime (6 PM to 12 MN), ABS-CBN hit a whopping 50% average audience share nationwide, or a 19-point-lead over GMA 7’s 31%. The primetime block is the most important part of the day when most Filipinos watch TV and advertisers put a larger chunk of their investment in to reach more consumers effectively.
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
Leading the pack of most-watched programs in the country is the Coco Martin-starrer “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano” with an average national TV rating of 39.4% followed by the 2015 remake of “Pangako Sa’Yo” (33.4%) and ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast “TV Patrol” (32%).
Weekend programs “MMK Ang Tahanan Mo” (28.8%) and “Wansapanataym” (27.1%) landed on the 5th and 6th spots respectively after consistently dominating Saturday and Sunday programming the previous month.
“Pasion De Amor,” meanwhile, continues to heat up primetime viewing on seventh place with an average national TV rating of 26.4% followed by comedy programs “Home Sweetie Home” (26.2%) on the eight slot and “Goin Bulilit” (25.2%) tied with “Rated K” (25.2%) on the ninth.
Completing the roster of top ten most watched programs in the country for October is ABS-CBN’s newest talk-comedy-game show “Celebrity Playtime” with 24.3%. Overall, ABS-CBN swept nine out of the top ten programs nationwide according to Kantar Media.
Meanwhile, more and more online and smartphone users continue to watch ABS-CBN programs online via the video-on-demand and livestreaming service iWanTV. “On The Wings of Love” is still the most watched program online with 4.4 million views, followed by “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” with 2.8 million views, and “Ang Probinsyano” with 1.8 million views. “Pinoy Big Brother 737” (1.2 million) and “All Of Me” (975,290 views) are also online favorites last month, along with “Pasion de Amor” (764,673) and “Doble Kara” (697,033).

“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” pinakapinapanood pa rin sa buong bansa
ABS-CBN NANGUNA SA NATIONAL TV RATINGS; PRIMETIME BIDA PUMALO SA 50% NOONG OKTUBRE
Nanatili pa ring pinakapinapanood na TV network sa bansa ang ABS-CBN matapos itong magtala ng average national audience share na 42% sa pinagsamang urban at rural homes noong Oktubre kumpara sa GMA na may 38%, base sa pinakahuling datos ng Kantar Media.
Patuloy rin ang pamamayagpag ng Kapamilya Network sa primetime (6 PM to 12 MN) sa average audience share na 50% nationwide, o 19 puntos ang lamang sa 31% ng GMA. Ang primetime ang pinakamahalagang timeblock dahil sa mga oras na ito may pinakamaraming nanonood kung kaya’t importante ito sa advertisers na naglalagay ng patalastas para maabot ang mas nakararaming Pilipino sa buong bansa,
Mas mapagkakatiwalaan ang datos ng Kantar Media na batay sa 2,609 na kabahayan sa parehong urban at rural areas sa bansa. Mas marami at eksakto kaysa sa service provider ng ibang networks, ang AGB Nielsen, na mayroong 1,980 kabahayan na nakabase lamang sa mga urban area. Samantala, mainit pa ring tinatangkilik ng sambayanan ang “Pasion De Amor” sa average national TV rating na 26.4% na sinundan ng comedy programs na “Home Sweetie Home” (26.2%) sa ikawalong puwesto at “Goin Bulilit” (25.2%) at “Rated K” (25.2%) na tie sa ika-siyam na puwesto.
Ang pinakabagong talk-comedy-game show na “Celebrity Playtime” ang kumumpleto sa top ten sa average national TV rating na 24.3%. Sa pangakalahatan, siyam sa sampung pinakapinapanood na programa sa bansa ay mula sa ABS-CBN ayon sa Kantar Media.
