The gripping saga of a woman caught in a dystopian society in “The Handmaid’s Tale,” the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning adaptation of the Margaret Atwood classic, will be available for streaming to SKY subscribers via HBO GO, beginning September 15.

The critically-acclaimed series follows the story of Offred (Elisabeth Moss), a woman forced into sexual bondage to help reverse the population decline of the totalitarian society that is Gilead. With life far from idyllic, marked by environmental disaster and a plunging birthrate, Gilead’s leadership treats its women as property.

As one of Gilead’s few remaining fertile women, Offred is a Handmaid in the Commander’s household, who must submit to authority and bear children – or face dire consequences. When a child she bears is taken from her, she sets out on a quest to find her—but must do so carefully as anyone she meets along the way could be a spy for the Gilead regime and threaten her survival.

It also stars Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle, Max Minghella, and Samira Wiley.

The first two seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale are available for streaming on HBO GO.

Meanwhile, viewers can catch more gritty drama on HBO GO as “The Deuce,” from the long-time collaborative tandem of  “The Wire” creator David Simon and best-selling detective fiction author George Pelecanos.  It is the story of the legalization of the porn industry in ‘70s New York through the mid ‘80s. Maggie Gyllenhal makes a star turn as a Times Square prostitute drawn by the allure of the emerging porn industry. James Franco stars in the double-role of twin brothers Vincent and Frankie Martino who play fronts for the Mafia.

Exclusively available in the Philippines to SKY subscribers, HBO GO is an internet-based streaming service that allows viewers to stream their favorite Hollywood movies, HBO Original and HBO Asia Original programmes anytime, anywhere via the internet on their computer, or on their mobile devices through the HBO GO App (downloaded from App Store or Google Play). Bringing the best of Hollywood closer to Asia, HBO GO also has new features including download capabilities of HBO Original programmes and selected Hollywood movies from HBO GO’s extensive video-on-demand library and live TV streaming of HBO Asia’s bouquet of channels. In Asia, HBO GO is currently available in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore and will be launched in more Asian territories soon.
